Welcome to Wichita Optometry in Kansas where we perform comprehensive eye health exams that check for visual acuity and health problems with your eyes.  When you walk through our doors, you can expect friendly, high-quality eye care from eye doctors and staff that will listen to your concerns and answer your eye health questions.

Our philosophy of practice begins with you, the patient, and seeks to meet your vision and ocular health needs. As Doctors of Optometry, in Wichita, KS, we are independent primary health care providers who examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures as well as diagnose related systemic conditions. At Wichita Optometry we provide comprehensive eye exams, eyeglasses, contact lenses, pre- and post-operative care, and treat a wide range of eye diseases including pink eye (conjunctivitis), diabetic retinopathy, astigmatism, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, red eyes, amblyopia, and much more.

Comprehensive Eye Examinations at our Optometry Clinic

When most people think about getting their eyes tested at an optometry clinic, they think about their visual acuity and potentially getting a prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses.  While testing your visual acuity is part of the eye exam process, our optometrists also look for signs of disease and check your overall eye health.

Our comprehensive eye exams check for diabetic eye diseases, macular degeneration, glaucoma and eye disease from systemic problems.  These eye diseases can cause vision loss and blindness if they are not treated promptly.  Testing for glaucoma begins with checking the pressure in your eye to determine if it is within normal ranges.

Checking for diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration involves dilating your eyes and examining the back of your eye along with your retina.  If we do find problems with your eyes, we will explain the results to you and outline a treatment and monitoring program to help preserve your vision.

Eyeglasses and Contact Lens Exams

If you have nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism or presbyopia, we offer eyeglasses and contact lens exams that can help improve your visual acuity.  Our eye doctors will test your vision and determine the correct eyeglasses or contact prescription that will give you your desired visual acuity.  We may even be able to fit you in contacts even if you have a severe astigmatism.

Eye Ailments We Treat

Our optometrists can diagnose and treat many eye diseases including dry eye, red or itchy eyes, and eye pain.  Dry eye most often occurs due to insufficient or inadequate tear production.  Eye drops and eye creams can help reduce your symptoms.

Pink eye or red eye is an eye infection that can be caused by a virus or bacteria.  It most commonly occurs in children, but even adults can acquire it.  Our optometrists can diagnose your pink eye and provide a course of treatment to clear the infection.

Evaluations and Referrals LASIK and Surgery for Cataracts

If you have cataracts or are considering LASIK surgery, we can evaluate your eyes to determine if corrective eye surgery would benefit you.  If you are a good candidate, we can write a referral and perform your post-operative care.

We offer a wide range of budget-friendly, eyeglass frames to compliment your personality and enhance your unique style.  After your eye exam, simply ask one of our optical shop employees to help you find the perfect frames for your lifestyle.
